Dr. Emily Darr completed her undergraduate work at the College of Charleston where she received her BS in exercise physiology while playing Division I women’s volleyball. She then acquired her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her internship at Spartanburg Regional Hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina prior to completing her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Following her training, Dr. Darr returned to her alma mater to start a physiatry practice in 2011., As a member of the MUSC Department of Orthopaedics and the MUSC Spine Center, Dr. Darr’s primary focus is providing excellent care to patients with interventional and non-operative spine care needs. Common problems treated and procedures performed include: low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, lumbar radiculopathy, cervical radiculopathy, hip pain, discogenic pain, facet pain, general musculoskeletal injuries, spasticity, torticollis, nerve conduction studies, EMGs or electromyography, epidural injections, nerve blocks, facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablation or rhizotomy, trigger point injections, EMG guided botulinum toxin injections, and ultrasound guided joint injections.
