Today I received notice from one of my vendors that my representative from the Fabulous Fannies frame company passed away. In his late 80’s Ike Bender spent a lifetime in this industry, a classic salesman his word was his bond, he was one of the few people that his handshake was all you needed. Rest In Peace Mr. Bender. You will be missed by those of us that knew you, and this industry.
My boy Sonny Matta. Today is his 28th birthday. Born on Mothers Day 1992. Rock on son!!!!!
Due to the impact of Covid 19 and after careful consideration, Empire Eyewear will be closing it’s 1215 N. Harbor City Blvd location on Monday November 13th. I appreciate all of the support that I received from our much valued and loyal patients, as well as my colleagues in the optical industry. I would also like to thank the optometrists and ophthalmology groups that supported me as well.
Those of you that have made recent purchases, all of your warranties are still intact. I have given custody of your records, and have made arrangements with Eyedeal vision to honor all warranties.

Empire Eyewear is pleased to announce the transfer of ownership of our 1215 N Harbor City Blvd location to Florida Licensed Optician Talisa Rodriguez.
Originally from New York Talisa attended the New York City College of Technology, receiving a degree in Opthalmic Dispensing in 2008. An intense program with emphasis on theory of light, and geometric optics.
With industry experience ranging from manufacturing of lenses to ophthalmic dispensing in both corporate and private settings Talisa also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in fashion. Those two combined disciplines will insure the perfect fit for your next pair of eyeglasses.
