Employment & Civil Rights Legal Services is a law firm dedicated to assisting Hoosiers who have employment-related or civil rights issues.
The firm represents employees in both the public and private sectors in discrimination lawsuits based on race, sex, age, disability, national origin or religion. The firm also represents employees who have issues concerning the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), reasonable accommodation under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), minimum wage and overtime issues, unpaid compensation, and retaliatory discharge.
The firm also represents students, teachers and parents in free speech, religious expression, sexual harassment and other civil rights cases involving schools and universities. Also in the civil rights area, the firm represents citizens in cases involving the violation of civil rights under color of state law -- that is, a violation of an individuals federally-protected rights by a STATE governmental agency.
