During his time as a patient at Encompass Health, Russell Johnson shared his story of being drafted into the United States Army and becoming a military policeman. In 1969, Russell was taking a small break from attending the Atlanta School of Art to earn money to pay for school, when he was drafted. While receiving training at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia, Russell was asked to paint a mural in the day rooms. In the years he served, he was ordered to Vietnam and even witnessed the celebration of Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. Russell told us about the generosity and kindness of the Vietnamese citizens. Once retired from the military, he continued his artwork in advertising and graphic design. We would like to thank Russell and all of those who have served our country. Happy Veterans Day!

After beating COVID-19, Stephen Boyette arrived at Encompass Health to regain his strength and mobility.
