Flathead Ford 239. From a rusty hulk to ready to run!
Engine Machine & Supply updated their website address.
This reminds me of Red Slater that started Engine Machine. He was across the street from Crower in the heyday and did lots of work for them. His kids, Mark Slater and Joye Josten continue his legacy to this day.

Spent a great afternoon with a cool old machinist. He’s been machining longer than I’ve been alive and knew many of the industry greats: Weiand, Isky, Crane, Herbert, Enderle, etc and learned from them in their heyday. His hands shake badly now, and he frequently talks about how limited time is. He loves his old shop cat who is rail thin, wavers when it stands, and only eats when he’s up to it. There are multiple food bowls out, one looks like it might be chicken noodle soup. “I try different things to see if he’ll eat”. Amidst all of this, he says: “I have a new grinder arriving Monday; I hope that the road is dry enough for the semi to pull in because I don’t want to get my forklift stuck with 4,000 pounds on it. That’s a dying breed right there and I can only hope that there are some new folks coming down the pike to take his place.
New saying: "That guy is one can shy of a six-pack".
