We as humans can go without many things for a long time: ✔️Food ✔️Water ✔️Shelter ✔️Some organs But the body cannot last long without: ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️OXYGEN☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ Without the proper oxygen balance the symptoms could lead to constant fatigue, jaw joint (TMJ) issues, headaches, insomnia, never ending medications, surgery... potentially a lifetime of confusion and pain. When you are having difficulties, it’s important to look at the airway first. As research continues to reveal itself, more doctors are becoming aware of the effects of an inadequate airway leading to so many painful symptoms.

We have designed this space with a Surgically Clean Air system throughout the practice. Air quality will be pristine. This building was a plant store for over 30 years. This is what attracted me to the space. I love plants and plant energy. We are into making the planet a better place and supporting people on their journey to wellness. Our mouth contains a diverse population of HEALTHY bacteria. We swallow billions of of these microbes per day. We must care for our oral cavity as these swallowed bacteria are integral to gut health. The good and bad bacteria from the mouth is swallowed and seeded into the gastrointestinal tract. Gut health is our immune system, but it first begins in the mouth. —— The gut and the mouth are inextricably linked. So what is happening in the mouth happens to the gut. We must take care of our mouth!! ——- Be conscious of what goes in and comes out (Speak life and health, y’all). If you think that your mouth is not in good shape, it’s time to see your dentist. Dentists are able to not only exam your mouth visually, but test what types of microbes are living inside. Most of the bugs are good but some can be detrimental to your mouth, gut and immune system.

I have a about a million things to do to prepare for 11/23 and I really want to celebrate something. There is ALWAYS something to celebrate. I found two amazing team members that will be joining enlightenDENTAL! They are experts in customer service with great personalities. This was my main objective in finding people to work with and grow this dental practice. They don’t have a ton of experience y’all so please be patient with us when the doors open. We will begin training next week and this is amazing. I’m getting all of their trainings prepared now.

I love how realistic Hannah Pickle tells people stories and shows their moments through her photography. She is offering elopement and smaller event packages, mini sessions for families and portraits. She is offering smaller packages to be conscious and considerate of what we are all going through right now with the pandemic. We still get to celebrate and have these moments documented. Last week I did a video with the @theAntidoteJuice and this week @hannahpickle!! Next week who will it be? I have developed a hashtag #5forcanoe for my partnership with @loop.nola. Every 5 new patients we see, we are sending a child from NOLA public schools on a canoe ride. Many blessings to this organization!! Can you believe that this will be our hallway? The floors will be hardwood not carpet. I have never been this busy before in my life! Ya’ll this is a rendering. This is such a realistic view so people think that the office is done and are calling to schedule appointments. I have decided to start to schedule the appointments tentatively. Our goal is to open by 11/23, but you never know with construction. Our space was designed with a Surgically Clean Air system that cleans the air in the building every 5 minutes. I am so excited about the how the finished result will look. Hopefully the contractors get it right!

So many people asked me about my logo so here’s the big reveal of who I worked with to get my logo, branding and website. Studio 8e8! They sent me this celebration package. I signed up with them the day before the world got shut down so they never got a chance to send me this package. Once I saw @pedosmiledoc get hers, they made sure I got mine. Thanks y’all! Before I can heal others, I heal myself. After a busy morning of school drop offs and being around people in and out of our construction site, I went to the amazing wellness spa @remedyroomnola for an immune boost. One thing that I can’t afford as a mom and business owner is to be sick. This vitamin C and B complex IV was just what I needed to build my system against all the bugs that are going around. Self care is a must. Thank you Sunny and Courtney for taking great care of me.

The mouth is super absorbent and it was designed that way to signal the body to prepare for what is being introduced. As a person and dentist who’s mission is to lower mine and my patient’s lifetime toxic load, I think it’s important for you to take a look at your toothpaste. Can you identify or say the words in the ingredients on your toothpaste bottle? Is there a poison control warning (in fine print) if swallowed on the tube? Whether the toothpaste is swallowed or not, if it enters the mouth whatever is in it is going to get absorbed directly into the bloodstream. Some medicines are best taken under the tongue or sublingually due this method’s rapid uptake and direct access to the bloodstream. While we can’t completely rid our lives of daily environmental toxins, we can sure try!! I am sooooooo proud of myself!! I did it! I created a practice that is built around and centered in practicing dentistry in the safest, least toxic ways possible. I designed the air quality not on in the HVAC to be hospital grade filtration, but I have a Surgically Clean Air system to scrub the air every 5 minutes. I designed the perfect spot to put a 3D imaging software which will allow you to see what is inside your entire head and neck not just your individual teeth. Our philosophy incorporates the whole, so it’s important to see that oral systemic connection in this way. I did it!! I designed a room specifically for safe mercury removals so that our patients, team and environment are safe from mercury which is a hazardous material. It’s all coming together and I am just so proud of myself to be the visionary behind this incredible, different dental practice in New Orleans.

I have been meaning to get this to you for a very long time. This is what I have been so excited about. The transformation to the front of this historic New Orleans house!! I am amazed at the skills of @san . I would have NEVER come up with this color scheme on my own. It’s so bold and eye catching. No other house on Maple St looks like this one and it makes me proud. Not only is our dentistry different, our design is different. We were able to meld old New Orleans charm with a sleek, modern design. I am beyond grateful to every single person who has messaged me, sent me a kind message, helped me make tough decisions... you know who you are 💛💛💛. This is such a unique dental practice for New Orleans and I am proud, as a native New Orleanian, to be the owner.

Biomimetic dentistry is the practice of dentistry which applies the concept of Biomimetics. This treatment approach strives to preserve intact tooth structure and restore the function and biomechanics of natural teeth. A biomimetic approach to dentistry helps to preserve the natural tooth structure and reduces the chances of a root canal or extraction. While sometimes root canals or extractions are inevitable, my heart is in prevention. This past weekend I spent the entire time studying the science and research behind dentin (middle tooth structure) and enamel (outer tooth structure) bonding. When you receive a filling, inlay or crown at enlightenDENTAL, you will receive a biomimetic approach. While this approach takes longer than the traditional approach, it’s worth the time investment if you would like to reduce future problems with your dental work.

Be the light and love. First, love yourself. Move your body, get some sun, drink your filtered water with lemon juice or champagne if that feels right. Do what makes you feel good and loved. Only when you love yourself can you be a loving force to others. Educate yourself, nourish that brain or laugh a little. Call your friend that makes you laugh.
