Members of the local Vietnamese community, led by Quynh Nguyen, came together to coordinate a generous gift of 2 large pallets of personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies like masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer! In addition, Pho Vy, Zero Degrees, and Pho Gardens brought over 150 hot and delicious lunches for employees at University Hospital. We are so thankful for this community support!

Dr. Robert L.M. Hilliard was a man who lived his entire life committed to the principle that everyone, no matter the color of their skin or size of their wallet, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. He became the first Black physician in our community to complete a specialty residency program. He was also the first Black chief resident of obstetrics and gynecology and delivered more than 14,000 babies.
Because of his impact in our community, we named our East Side clinic after him; one of only three facilities that has been named in honor of a person.
“It’s really impossible to measure the impact he had on the lives of his patients, the babies he brought into this world, and the many students and physicians he mentored,” said Dianna Burns-Banks, former board of managers secretary and a longtime friend and colleague of Dr. Hilliard. His legacy impacts both our community’s past and future. #BlackHistoryMonth
