‼️TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS‼️ This week we would like to highlight one of our Financial Advisors, Riky Hanan. Riky has 23 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, and he serves his clients in the Walnut Creek office. As a partner, Riky has various duties. He holds both the CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) and APMA® (Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor) designations and leads our team's investment department. In his spare time, Riky likes to paint. Look at the painting that he did for his house! It's pretty amazing! "I started painting when I was in elementary school. I discovered that not only did I love painting, but I was also naturally talented in it. In the busy world of finance, painting has created the space and time to really slow down and be creative. I am inspired by what I can create with paints and a brush, while also knowing what artistic expressions I like most. If you have always wanted to try painting, I would encourage you to try. As anything in life; you grow in doing. And you never know what kind of artist you can be until you try. As I can attest, there is almost a therapeutic quality to painting and it can bring another element of creativity to your life." #tuesdayteamhighlight #teamescohanan #beinspired
‼️TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS‼️ This week we would like to highlight our Administrative Assistant, Wendy Reeves. Wendy supports our advisors Scott Esco, Riky Hanan, and Alex Esco in our Walnut Creek office. “Only look behind you so you will know where you are going. The past is only a placeholder for the future. But hope; hope is the anchor for the soul.” "In 1972 I was adopted from South Korea. It wasn’t until 2015 that I got the opportunity to return to Korea. One of the only mementos I have from Korea is a pair of baby shoes. I took them with me when I traveled back to Korea and photographed them at all of the known locations I was in before I was adopted to the US. The church that I was abandoned at, the police station I was taken to and the two orphanages I was in. My story is unknown and the past will remain a mystery. I see the story in photographs and one day, my photographs will tell the incomplete story." ‼️ TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS ‼️ This week we would like to highlight one of our Client Service Specialists - Jasmine Kutch. Jasmine Kutch supports our advisors Scott Esco and Gene Redding in our Manteca office. She has gone through a personal breakthrough this year that inspired the rest of our team. With her permission, we’d like to share it with you. We are so proud of you, Jasmine!! “There were lots of factors that made me want to start this lifestyle change, but my wakeup call was not being able to get up off the floor after I changed my son’s diaper. It was difficult. My knees aches and I just didn’t have the strength like I used to. I wanted to have that strength back again. I set goals to keep myself motivated and to stay on track. Every time I accomplished a goal, I set another one. My motivation keeps me going when I fit in smaller clothes. My motivation keeps me going when I run a mile without stopping. My motivation continues when people tell ME I’m motivating them to make a lifestyle change. And lastly, my family motivates me. I will continue to show them that you can accomplish anything as long as you believe in yourself!” #teamescohanan #tuesdayteamhighlights #lifestylechange #beinspired #beliveinyourself

‼️ TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS ‼️ This week we would like to highlight one of our Financial Advisors, Gene Redding. Gene has 24 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, and he works primarily in our Manteca office. He is also Commander of the San Francisco Commandery of the Naval Order of the United States (NOUS). Gene would like to share his hobby of raising his border collie. "The Fall of 2003 was the first time I saw a border collie. I had just returned from Iraq, and my then 9 year old daughter Emily wanted to see a “Fly Dog” show. The Competition was full of border collies flying through the air chasing frisbees and tennis balls. I was amazed at the athleticism and obedience of these animals. There was something about those dogs that made me want one as a pet. But we didn’t have the time to spend with such a dog since we focused our attention on Emily and her two younger siblings, Erin and Timothy. But I never lost interest in Border Collies. I researched them. I found they were highly intelligent. They were so well trained and dependable that ranchers around the world trusted border collies to protect the flock from predators and help the ranchers herd the flock to safety. I had no livestock to herd, but I value an animal that protects others from predators. As I mentioned, I served as a Marine in Iraq. I served in Afghanistan the year before that. When I watched the movie “American Sniper”, there’s a scene at the dinner table where the Father discovers that his grade school age son, Chris Kyle, had taken on a schoolyard bully to protect his brother. Kyle’s Father explained at the dinner that there were 3 types of animals in the world: sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. The sheepdogs have an overpowering need to protect the flock. Having been a Marine in both those wars, I’d seen the predators prey on the vulnerable. I understood what it meant to be a sheepdog. Finally, in September of 2019, my wife and adopted our sheepdog, Beau. He came to our home as a 8 week old puppy and for the past year I’ve spent hours daily training him, playing with him, and making him a part of the family. No doubt this dog has a motor. He has a drive to keep going. Most of all, he is devoted. I’ve had dogs before. But Beau is different. He wants to please. He responds rapidly to commands. He stays by my side. He’s my sheepdog." #tuesdayteamhighlight #teamescohanan #beinspired
‼️ TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS ‼️ This week, we are highlighting one of our Financial Advisors, Alex Esco. Alex works in our Walnut Creek office as a Financial Advisor as well as Financial Planning Specialist. Aside from his love of world travel, cooking and being a foodie, he has a passion for playing volleyball. "Volleyball is the only sport I was ever good at growing up. I scored on my own soccer team, was benched in baseball, and was too slow to be a competitive swimmer. I started playing volleyball in 7th grade and have never looked back! High school is when volleyball started getting competitive and where my love for the sport really blossomed. My tiny high school team really started to take our time on the court seriously and pushed one another to be more competitive. Practices got more intense, players started playing at the club level, and we started winning against larger, more established programs! I had to work especially hard as I was short for my position (Outside Hitter). When I went to college, I joined the club team as there was no varsity team for men. At the end of the regular club season, there is a huge national tournament where schools from all over the country compete with one another. It is the largest intercollegiate volleyball tournament in the world! My freshman year, my team of 8 people won the silver division at the D1AA level, but I wanted to win gold division. Fast forward five years to my senior year and we won gold division at the D1AA level! Many on my team were presented with All-Tournament Team honors and I was named the Division MVP- my proudest achievement to date! The camaraderie shared with my teammates and supportive volleyball community are aspects of the game that I will cherish forever. Now that I’m old and washed up, I enjoy playing recreationally and in tournaments with my friends in the Bay Area and Southern California. If you or any of your loved ones play indoor, grass, or beach volleyball, let me know and we can find a time to play!" #tuesdayteamhighlight #teamescohanan #beinspired
!! TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS !! For our highlight this week, we would like to introduce you to one of our talented Client Service Specialists, Samantha Lucas. Sam has been with us for 17 years, and she works in the Walnut Creek office, assisting Scott T. Esco and Riky Hanan. Sam loves to bake, and over the years, she's the one responsible for bring us her baked goodies to the office and making it hard for some of us to stick with our diets. They're super delicious, so we can't complain much! "When my kids were little, I would always enjoy baking for them and with them. Since they are now adults, they along with my husband, Mom and close friends, have encouraged me to continue but more on a professional level. I finally decided to take the plunge about 2 years ago and now have my side business. Over the years, I have developed recipes where some completely failed and others that have become our favorites and, in some cases, tradition. It’s definitely something that has forced me to focus and be more patient with. Dealing with disappointment and wasted ingredients, when things don’t turn out as planned, is something I’ve had to learn to accept and learn from. With that, it has offered knowledge and learning experiences through those harder times. However, when it works, there’s a great deal of satisfaction that comes with it. One of my most appreciated compliments is to see someone’s joy in their expression when they taste something I have made. I LOVE that! I now have a new little guinea pig, my granddaughter, who is always excited to taste test for her MeeMaw." #tuesdayteamhighlight #beinspired #teamescohanan #baking #bakingqueen
‼️ TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHT ‼️ Today, we would like to share a little bit about our Client Service Specialist in our Turlock office, Angela Casso. “When I was a little girl, my mom would scold me for drinking her coffee. Every chance I could get, I would drink her coffee straight out of her mug. I remember it was plain Jane Folgers with cream and sugar, and I was in love from the first sip. Throughout my childhood years, my teenage years and into adulthood, I would try multiple types of coffee. Deepening my love for this heavenly beverage known as coffee became a passion of mine. It was no surprise when an opportunity presented itself to open my own coffee shop in my hometown, my sister and I would jump on it. Since my hometown was only known for our local donut shop drip coffee, I knew this would be a hit! My coffee shop is located in my small hometown of about 4,500 people. Since opening six months ago, we are seeing a lot of surrounding townspeople stop by for some great coffee. I absolutely love working with my team and our clients at Esco, Hanan, and Associates; however I also love sharing my love for great coffee and meeting new people at my coffee shop. Love God, love people, love coffee.” #tuesdayteamhighlight #teamescohanan #beinspired #coffeelover

‼️TEAM MEMBER HIGHLIGHTS‼️ For this week’s highlight, we would like to introduce you to our Chief Operating Officer and Marketing Manager, Fransisca Esco. Fransisca Esco loves to garden and do some fun flower arrangements. If you’ve happened to attend our past client events, you would have seen the personal flower arrangements she made. Here, she shares how she made her beautiful flower arrangement using a pumpkin. Instructions are provided in each photos. “I don’t know how or when it started, but I’ve always enjoyed beautiful flowers. The stuff that I grow in my garden is always handpicked. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I’d like to show you a fun arrangement that I recently made. All the flowers were from my yard, and the pumpkin was from a local farm. I suggest that you go to a local pumpkin farm and save a few pumpkins for your Thanksgiving arrangements. I chose a more rounded pumpkin for this one, but don’t be afraid to experiment! For the greenery, I used lemon verbena from my garden, as well as eucalyptus, and another fern I have from Trader Joe’s. For flowers, I used mostly dahlias and some zinnias that I grow in my backyard. I love trying new color combinations with different flowers. You will need to carve the pumpkin to your liking, and take out all the seeds. Then you want to line it with a plastic bag, and trim around the edges. Next, you want to insert a flower foam (you’ll find this at your local arts and crafts store) that’s been soaked in cold water. The next thing you do is insert the greenery as your “base”, then follow with your flowers. You want to play around with this, covering all areas of the pumpkin, using different heights and angles. Have fun experimenting with this and customizing it into a perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table this year!” #tuesdayteamhighlight #teamescohanan #beinspired
