A message from Essington Podiatry Group
At Essington Podiatry Group, the overall health and well-being of our patients, staff and doctors continues to be our first priority. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions and recommended health care guideline from the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
The CDC guidelines for sanitary practices have always been followed. In addition, we have now established a new Respiratory Infection Prevention and Control Protocol which includes the following:
Patients that have been out of the country or in contact with someone who has traveled outside of the country within the last 21 days OR has been in contact with someone that has had a severe respiratory illness within the last 14 days, are asked to contact the office prior to any upcoming appointment and may be asked to postpone their scheduled visit.
For the safety of our staff and doctors, walk-in appointments or anyone walking into the office without calling the office in advance, will not be allowed to enter. If you present to the office without an appointment you will see a sign on the door directing you to return to your car and call our office from your vehicle.
Additional cleaning and disinfection procedures with CDC approved disinfectants will be performed hourly and more often to frequently touched surfaces or objects such as front counters, waiting room chairs, and the X-ray area which will be disinfected between patients and upon patient departure. Treatment rooms including exam chairs, chairs, counters, and other surfaces will be disinfected immediately after use.
We have removed all magazines from our waiting room. When needed, patients will be given a new pen which can then be kept or discarded.
Patients will be brought to a treatment room as soon as possible which will limit the time spent in the waiting room. Waiting room chairs are spaced 6 feet apart. We are limiting the number of patients seen per day. The office will use 5 treatment rooms to limit the number of patients in the same area, to keep social distancing and to allow time for the staff to perform thorough cleaning.
Hand Hygiene including the use of hand sanitizer will be used by all office personnel before and after all patient contact, and any contact with potentially infectious material. We are asking that patients use hand sanitizer upon entry to and exit from the office.
We are asking that patients refrain from bringing family members with them to their visits unless absolutely necessary for patient assistance. Family members will be asked to remain in the waiting room or their vehicles.
Patients exhibiting respiratory infection symptoms of a fever, difficulty breathing and/or cough, will be asked to reschedule their appointment and to contact their primary care physician.
Patients scheduled for necessary post-operative visits that have respiratory symptoms should call ahead to inform staff of their condition prior to confirming their appointment.
We will continue to accept new patients to ensure the community’s foot and ankle needs are met.
Thank you for understanding. Stay Healthy!
We treat foot and ankle related sports injuries for all ages. Same day appointments available.

Illinois Podiatric Medical Association celebrates 100 years! The 5 of 6 women presidents of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association over the past 100 years. These women are great leaders and mentors of the podiatric profession and I am grateful for their wisdom and guidance, and for paving the way for women in leadership positions. I am honored to share this distinction with them.
