eTrac completed its 12th and 13th NOAA contract simultaneously in Chicago and Alaska this year. The Alaska project was located on the Alaska Pennisula near the the Aleutian chain, aka a very remote place. Our team lived aboard a large ship, which is also where our office was located for immediate data processing. We had 3 smaller vessels collecting data each day with multibeam echosounders. #surveylife

eTrac travels nationally and internationally for our clients & jobs. Since our field of work occasionally needs a vessel, we regularly work with "Vessels of Opportunity", or "VOOPs" for short. VOOPs are vessels local to the jobsite where we can mobilize our equipment and use for the duration of the project. For one of our recent jobs in Freeport, TX, we utilized a local pontoon boat to survey a river! #eTrac #survey #hydrography
Have you ever seen an active dredge up close and personal? These machines help keep marinas, shipping channels and ports to a specific depth for vessels to navigate safely. They are very important in the marine industry!
eTrac has a symbiotic relationship with dredge companies throughout the country. Our hydrographers assist in pre-dredge, conditional and post-dredge surveys using multibeam sonar equipment in order for dredge companies to know where to focus excavation efforts.
