Founded in 1996 by Rick McMullen, Eurotech got off to a quick start with good economic conditions. Rick was well known from being a Master Volvo tech and a Mercedes-Benz Master Guild Technician at the local dealer, Noble Cars, for 13 years. After a few months it wasn't uncommon to find him working late nights and weekends to keep up. He rented half of the space in a stand alone commercial building on Potomac Creek Drive in Stafford about 3 miles south of Stafford Courthouse and 4 miles north of the Falmouth Bridge. Not long after getting a consistent service business going, Rick was convinced used car sales would compliment the business. Rick had reservations about taking on more with such a short track record, but continued with the plan. After asking a long time friend and co-worker from Noble Cars, Rick hired a sales manager, success came quickly. In August 2000, Rick purchased the real estate at the Stafford location and doubled the workshop space. The business took on new dynamics. Rick became a working shop foreman managing technicians, then hired Kelli Austin with years of experience working at a Northern VA dealerships who took on many duties in the office and at the front counter. Hard work and persistence paid off, the client base grew. Providing loaner cars and keeping an inventory of maintenance and fast moving repair parts added to customer convenience and quick turn around. Listening to and understanding the customer's needs, taking their budget concerns into consideration, providing value, employing the most talented and honest people, with ongoing training to keep pace with new technology was showing itself to be an effective business model. Eurotech remains on solid ground and plans to provide reliable service for many years to come.
