GREAT post here by @theptinitiative “Do you have localized Pain/Tightness on one side of your Low Back? Your Hip Weakness could be the primary cause...
-----
🔹Just because you feel pain in one area doesn't always mean that is the true source of the pain!
🔹There's typically a weakness somewhere else that is causing compensation and altered movement patterns.
🔹Your Glute Med is responsible for keeping your hips level during activities like walking and running. If it's weak, you might see the opposite hip drop, because the Glute Med isn't able to keep it level.
🔹It's also common for this weakness to be masked by compensation from other muscles. There are several compensation patterns, but a very common one is from the opposite side Quadratus Lumborum.
🔹This muscle has the ability to "hike up" your hips.
🔹So if the Right Glute Med is weak you may see the Left QL have to work more to compensate for the weakness!
🔹This overuse can lead to tightness and pain at that side of your Low Back!
