Dr. Evelyn Curls grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Harvard-Westlake High School before going on to receive her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. She obtained her Doctorate in Medicine while also receiving her Masters of Business Administration at UCLA. Before starting her residency training she worked as a consultant for Johnson & Johnson both domestically and abroad in Narobi, Kenya and Accra, Ghana. She served as a business consultant for HIV clinics helping them to improve their operations and funding though establishing microfinance ventures.
Dr. Curls completed her residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA. She was a member of the Primary-Care Internal Medicine track at UCLA. Being part of this program, she was able to receive increased exposure to fields including Sports Medicine, Podiatry, Dermatology, East-West Medicine, as well as Primary care of the medically complex patient. She is trained in the breadth of Primary care including Preventive Health Care, Women's Health and Family planning, Primary care of patients with HIV, management of disease processes such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, and Primary care of patients with solid organ transplants. Dr. Curls enjoys providing excellent care to a diverse population of patients including the underserved communities of Los Angeles.
She spends her free time as a wife and mother to her children. She is very excited to practice in the South Bay Community and could not be happier about joining UCLA Health.
