Indrani Raman, MD, is a board-certified internist and nephrologist who offers highly customized, patient-focused care at Excel Health MD, located in Murphy and Rockwall, Texas. After spending several years in the medical practice as a nephrologist, Dr. Raman discovered her passion for holistic and functional medicine and helping patients restore their overall wellness. Her practice provides services including holistic care, medical weight loss programs, neurofeedback, and kidney disease management. 
Dr. Raman earned her medical degree at Kurnool Medical College in India before moving to the United States to complete her residency in internal medicine and nephrology at the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo. When Dr. Raman redefined her practice, she had the privilege to do a fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. She’s currently board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology and is a diplomat in obesity medicine. She is continuing her passion for holistic care, she incorporates both principles of Integrative and Functional Medicine to provide a personalized wellness plan for each person. and training towards functional medicine certification.
Dr. Raman is dedicated to helping her patients optimize their health through medically supervised weight loss plans, nutritional guidance, and a combination of traditional and integrative therapies. Her highly personalized approach to medicine ensures that every patient gets the benefit of her full attention as well as the precise advice and treatment they need. 
Dr. Raman has always been interested in herbal and natural remedies to heal the body and mind and promote health. She also practices yoga and Vipassana meditation, and enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, and gardening.

Exercise does more than build muscle and burn body fat - it can help you sleep better and feel good, too... when done right!💪 In a study of more than 1 million people over 3 years, researchers found parallels between certain types and frequencies of exercise and mood benefits. 👉Here is what the study found: -Cardio and team sports have a more positive impact on mood than other types of exercise -Movement - even in the form of household chores - show a benefit for mood, too. -Exercising 30-60 minutes 3 to 5 times a week showed the most benefits. -Exercising too much showed that this made mental health worse.
