Why is it so important for diabetics to get a yearly eye exam? Not only does diabetes affect your body but it can also seriously damage your vision, potentially leading to vision loss. With the proper care, like getting a yearly dilated eye exam & maintaining a healthy diet, you can help keep your eyes healthy! Contact us to schedule your yearly dilated eye exam.
Wash your hands with soap and water before handling contact lenses. Place 1 lens in the palm of your hand, add a generous amount of solution, and gently rub with your finger for about 10 seconds in order to remove any buildup on the lens. Then, rinse the lens with solution. Repeat with the 2nd lens — and ta-da! They’re ready to wear!

As you prepare to chef-it-up this holiday season, keep this in mind as you chop up your next onion! A cut onion releases a gas called Propanethiol S-oxide, and when mixed with certain enzymes in the onion, it creates a sulfur gas that irritates the eyes and triggers your tear glands. Here's a tip: keep your onion refrigerated! Cold onion doesn't release that chemical compound as easily as it would if it were warm.

You can see clearly once the Ray's are on.
You may be surprised to hear this-- and it is something to remember! If any chemical, like a household cleaning supply, gets into your eye, avoid general eye drops to help soothe. Instead, use lukewarm tap water or contact lens saline rinse, and don't hesitate to seek emergency medical assistance!
Carrots give you amazing eyesight, especially at night. Fact or Fiction? This idea was planted during WWII and it is true-- to a certain extent. While carrots are filled with vitamins and antioxidants to help you #maintain eyesight they do not actually #improve your vision or help you see in the dark. Eat them anyway! Are your eyes burning after you prepare for bed and apply all of your skincare products? There several chemicals that help your skin while at the same time irritating your eyes. Here are a few to look out for: Alcohol, Acetyl hexapeptide-3, Phenoxyethanol & Retinol. Take note!
When you @Google "Inventor of contact lenses", two people pop up… Adolf Gaston Eugen Fick and Otto Wichterle. While Dr. Fick is often recognized for the discovery of contact lenses in the 1800s, they were made from glass and quite uncomfortable. Fast forward to 1958 when Otto, a chemist, developed the first soft lens and granted all the details to Bausch and Lomb in 1960. And the rest... is history. #InventorsDay https://bit.ly/2YxwR3W GOOGLE.COM inventor of contact lenses - Google Search

The human eye can see millions… and millions and millions of colors. Some colors can be soothing while others are just irritating to your eyes and to your ambiance. If bright yellow bothers you, you are not alone. It is one of the most light-reflecting colors which results in stimulation of the eyes. #Tip: If you're decorating a baby's room and want to go with yellow on the walls, you might benefit from using a pale shade. Some say little ones cry more in bright yellow rooms!
