The School was established in 1959 by a teacher at Fair Lawn High School, Joseph Lomonico. Joseph took his experience and skills from the classroom and brought them to the road, teaching students to drive. Later, Joseph's son Neil took over for his father using his aptitude for technology and combining it with his father's drive and knowledge for teaching. When Neil was younger he worked on the cars for his father and went on to receive his instructors license 1979. Today he runs the school with his wife Phyllis. Neil and Phyllis both have their degrees in business. Fair Lawn Driving School operates under the tenet that a defensive driver is a safe driver. Our driver education and evaluation courses are performed with automatic transmission cars that have dual-control brakes, so there is never a question about your safety. We offer high-school driver education programs, defensive driving courses and basic student lessons. All high school students who complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving and/or 30 hours of classroom training receive an insurance certificate. Call today and start yourself on the road to safety!
