Hello, everyone! I am reaching out to our community to let everyone know that we are going to be temporarily changing our policies and procedures in what has been a continually evolving public health situation. In light of the recent Covid-19 results for our county and state, Fairview Animal Hospital will once again return to a curbside service for all of our clients and pets. **I would like to emphasize that we will remain open**, and am asking that everyone be patient with us as we negotiate these trying times. I am confident that this will pass, and we will once again be able to conduct our lives as we once did. For now, out of an abundance of caution, and for the safety of our community, we thank you for working with us to make Blount County as safe as we possibly can!
The procedure for your appointment will be similar to how we have been operating, with some minor exceptions:
1) Please call to set up an appointment.
2) Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time to facilitate the check-in process.
2) Call us at 379-8833 when you arrive in our parking lot to check-in.
3) One of our staff members will then come out to your car to bring your pet inside for their appointment. (Please have dogs on a leash until our staff member arrives to bring them in, and cats need to be in a carrier)
4) After your appointment, a doctor will call you to follow-up with the appointment and discuss proceeding as needed with treatment, or check-out when ready to go home.
Thank you so much for your patience and willingness to help keep us all safe. We are grateful for each and every one of you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Khalsa

February is Pet Dental Health Month!
The same biological processes that happen in our mouths happen in our dogs’ mouths. Over time, hundreds of layers of film accumulate on top of one another, resulting in the yellow-brown material on our dogs’ teeth called plaque. When you see plaque, think hundreds of layers of bacterial concrete! Bacteria can enter the bloodstream through inflamed gums and cause damage elsewhere in the body. So needless to say, dentals are very important for your pet's overall health!
