Shermi Parikh, DPM, is a podiatrist with nearly 20 years of experience diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions affecting the foot and ankle. Since 2008, she has been the owner of Family Foot and Ankle Center, with locations in Niles and Berwyn, Illinois.
Dr. Parikh attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois. While a podiatry student, she provided volunteer foot care to homeless people in the Chicago area. She was also the vice president of the student council.
After podiatry school, Dr. Parikh completed residencies at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital Center in Chicago and Healthsouth Surgery Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a resident, she learned surgical techniques to correct a range of foot and ankle conditions, as well as the proper care for diabetic foot ulcers, infections, and joint salvage procedures.
Now in private practice, Dr. Parikh treats patients for conditions including ingrown nails, bunions, diabetic foot complications, and pain and injuries affecting the heels, arches, ankles, and feet.
She’s certified by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery and strives to use the least invasive techniques available to correct foot deformities. In addition to Family Foot and Ankle Care, Dr. Parikh also owns and operates Laser Skin Wellness Center, a medispa in Niles.
