Distracted Driving Is More Deadly Than Data Shows: Special Report
Woodland Hills, CA (September 14, 2017) — Following widespread damage resulting from Hurricane Harvey in southeast Texas, Farmers® has deployed several hundred specially trained Catastrophe Response Claims Team members to help expedite claims processing and assist in the area’s ongoing recovery efforts.
"Farmers Insurance claims staff make our customers their top priority and take pride in their ability to help them work through the claims handling process," said Keith Daly, chief claims officer for Farmers Insurance. "Our staff is working hard to put customers on the road to recovery as fast as possible."
Farmers Insurance has received more than 40,000 claims from Hurricane Harvey to date and estimates the hurricane and related storms will ultimately generate approximately 60,000 claims at an estimated gross cost of $500 million. After reinsurance and taxes, Farmers estimates that its net incurred loss will be $140 million.
Catastrophe claims teams will remain in the area to assist customers with their claims as they proceed with their recovery.
Farmers encourages customers who suffered damage and who haven’t already done so to file their claims as soon as possible by calling their agent, using the online filing system at https://www.farmers.com/claims/, the Farmers app through their smartphone or tablet, or by calling the 24-hour claims center:
