This picture is so sweet. 🥰 You can just tell how much this little girl loves her baby brother! This picture, to me, was a good one to accompany a post about life insurance because these two little ones are a bit older than my brothers were when my dad was killed in a car accident at the age of thirty.

My parents had not yet thought about life insurance. You are supposed to have time for that. Thirty years old!
My mom started working full time when I started kindergarten and my brothers and I were latchkey kids from then on.
So here's why this is a life insurance post: it breaks my heart to see accidents happen and families lose young parents. It twists the knife when you see GoFundMe accounts pop up from well-meaning relatives, trying their best to help with finances. Unfortunately a GoFundMe is never going to replace a life insurance policy. You want the family to be able to pay off the mortgage and be able to live without the surviving parent having to leave little ones to go to work.
So talk about it. Have the hard discussion. (Do it over ice cream if that helps.) Decide how much would be needed to pay things off and support your family. Then talk to an insurance agent. We are happy to help you figure out a policy, but if you don't talk to us, then please still talk to someone. Life insurance policies are a lot cheaper when you are young, so there is no reason to wait.
(That previous paragraph was written while wearing my insurance agent hat. Now let me switch to my personal hat...)
