Good morning. This morning Cameron Peak Fire is 206,009 acres and 52% contained. As our firefighters head to the firelines this morning, they are expecting a challenging weather day. High winds today may produce very active fire behavior and put a lot of smoke in the air. Crews will secure additional sections of the fire perimeter where possible, but the priorities for today will be public and firefighter safety first, and point protection of structures and other values at risk second.
