David and I are heartbroken to hear of our client and most of all our dear friend Bill Lucas ( Theresa Lucas) passing. We worked with Theresa at the Holiday Inn Airport and met Bill during social events. It wasn’t until afterwards, we became better friends.
Bill was from Vermont and a Navy veteran. He loved and enjoyed life. I never saw or heard him be cruel to anyone but showed others true kindness, care, and love. That is with the exception of giving David a hard time every year about his insurance premiums. ——-Due to the fact it was over $2.50 state fee the last time, I believe he just liked to harass him about it 😉
Bill was also supportive of us whether with insurance business or in our personal lives. He never left an event without getting to know everyone there. The last time I saw him was at the Asian Festival in February . Bill and Theresa came to our EF booth and while Theresa and I chatted, he was busy talking and learning about our Exchange sons and daughters.
Bill also had an interesting sense of humor. I have included some of his post he would send to David and I when him and Theresa were fighting COVID19 over a month ago. Being very sick, he kept his sense of humor.
I feel as I am rambling on this one. Bill was an interesting person with many wonderful characteristics. What I do know, this life will not be the same without Bill Lucas!
Please keep Theresa , Michael, and Thomas, along with his extended family, in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.

It is with great sadness to learn today of Rebecca Portugal’s passing earlier today from her fight with breast cancer.
As with any mother, her true joy and pride was her 2 children. She always bragged about their successes as she should being they are today’s heroes, her daughter as a nurse and her son serving in the US Army.
She also loved being a Grandma to Kamila ❤️

It is with great sadness, Julia Casarez passed away yesterday . As with her husband, she was a special to us. Her and Pedro , as with many of their children’s friends, opened their home and hearts to us. She helped celebrate our milestones but also was their to support us during hard times.
Mrs Casarez reminded me of my Mom and Granny. She loved her family and was a true momma bear. She adored her 2 granddaughters Julia and Angelica, giving them what their heart desired. She even adopted a couple grandsons along the way Erinny and Derik. Recently, Angelica blessed her with a great granddaughter that she loved unconditionally. The pictures I chose are of her and her grand babies.
Her and Mr Casarez had been married for 53 years. They passed within 48 hours of one another. She called him “Pete”. They have now been reunited for eternity.
Mrs Casarez, until we meet again, you will always be in our hearts. Love. Lady Renee and David.

It is with great sadness that we lost another one of our clients yesterday, Pedro Casarez. As with our last lost, Mr Casarez was more than a client.
Pedro and his family lived down the street from David when he was growing up. Over the years, Pedro and his family became David's second family.
I have known Pedro and his family for 10+ years now. When he would see me, he would greet me with "Hello Mija" , show me those pearly whites, give me a big hug, and kiss me on the cheek. He made you feel you were the most important person in the world. Even with that feeling, you knew you weren't because the twinkle in his eye for his wife, children, granddaughters, and recently great grand daughter, you knew that they were his entire world. He was what a Father should be, his son's friend/companion and always his 3 girls Daddy.
In David's words, he was to be admired for his love and acceptance of not only his family but also his friends. I think this would be many people's description of Pedro.
Mr. Casarez, on occasion when I "think" you had a few to many spirits ;), you would tell me, lets have a shot of tequila. I never took you up on it BUT I will have one soon in your honor. You made a lasting impression with us all.
