A recent survey has found that most sandwiches (79%) eaten by adults contained poultry, meat, or fish. Cold and cut sandwiches (27%) were the most commonly consumed type of sandwiches followed by burgers (17%) and poultry sandwiches (12%).
The correct order of ingredients in a traditional club sandwich is: toast on the bottom, turkey slices, a layer of toast, bacon, lettuce and tomato, topped with a slice of toast and cut into quarters along the bias. Condiments are personal preference, but mayonnaise is traditional.
