The Federation of Italian-American Organization of Brooklyn, also known as F.I.A.O Brooklyn, is honored to present “Il Centro”, the first Italian-American cultural community center in New York located in southern part of Brooklyn. Il Centro was assembled to serve as a resource for the Italian-American community in which to preserve the Italian-American heritage and culture, stimulate a positive image and legacy of Italian-Americans, and to strengthen ties between young and old Italian-Americans in the community and other like-minded individuals.
Il Centro is a multi-level 44,000 square foot facility outfitted with modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Beautiful classrooms will serve to host a series of seminars and workshops; A full fitness facility designed with contemporary exercise equipment will allow for both individual and group fitness opportunities; A gymnasium, built to endure the newest and toughest athletes in our community, will serve as an epicenter for sports teams and programs throughout the borough; A swimming pool with a breath taking panoramic view will allow for both fitness related and leisurely activities; An elegant event space, transitional in design, holds endless potential for a multitude of events such as private parties, vendor showcases, charity events, and networking gatherings.
Through the use of its exceptional facilities, Il Centro will serve the Italian-American community by providing a variety of classes, programs, events, and clubs that are representative of the Italian culture and will aim to embrace members of other cultures and communities in order to strengthen its legacy.
