Here are some signs that new wiper blades are in order: Streaking or hazing on the windshield when it rains or snows. A chattering sound when your wipers are on. This noise means they're not swiping smoothly, but popping up and down as they go. The blades are pulling away from the windshield at higher speeds, instead of sitting snugly against the windshield. The rubber has split into sections or pulled away from the wiper arm. This will cause a slapping sound when you turn on the windshield wipers. The rubber edge looks worn or torn in places, or the metal arm is bent or cracked. We have wipers in stock!!

In the past, we've delivered your boxes to your site the first week of November. Unfortunately, due to a few errors, our boxes weren't delivered until last week, and then with the ADDITIONAL COVID-19 restrictions by Gov. Pritzger, we've learned that there are many buildings, organizations, and collection sites that will NOT be able to collect as they have in years past. That being said, with over 150+ locations, it's not possible for me to know which places will be collecting and which are shut down. I am asking you, if you are still willing and able to collect toys during this most urgent time, please pick up your box(es) directly from me: Monday, November 23rd (9am - 7pm) Tuesday, November 24th (9am - 7pm) Wednesday, November 25th (9am - noon) If you are NOT able to pick them up, please send me an email and I will do my best to deliver them to you the Monday after Thanksgiving. WINTER WEATHER DRIVING TIPS #1 - ALWAYS have a plan for whatever/wherever you are at. Be prepared for the worst case situation in this weather. What would you do if you do crash, overturn, slide into ditch, or have a vehicle fire!!!! #2 - Always keep food, water, blankets, boots, etc in your car especially in this weather. You never know how long you will be stuck in your car. #3 - Carry first aid items for yourself or others. #4 - NEVER drive around with less than a half a tank of gas in hot or cold weather!!! It’s not worth freezing to death. #5 - Wear your coats and cold weather stuff while driving in the car!!! ESPECIALLY MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS HAVE EXTRA COATS AND BLANKETS IN THE VEHICLE. Nothing worse than going to a crash and people are freezing because they don't plan for the worst.... #6 - Always have a seatbelt cutter/knife, window punch/center punch or tool to break one out if needed. If you need a quick exit but are unable to..... AGAIN, have a plan because what do you have to break a window if you needed??? Chris Fisher December 25 at 5:56 PM · Shoutout to the police officers and firefighters who charged into this mess to save lives on Christmas morning. #realheroes I haven’t seen it reported yet, but it seems this warning originated from the RV before it blew. Nashville police went door to door evacuating apartments and saving a lot of lives. They suspected a bomb and called for the bomb squad before doing it. The bomb squad hadn’t yet made it on scene. They knew what they were up against and went anyway.

Asking everyone to say a prayer for the family Illinois State Police District 10 Pesotum March 26 at 12:43 AM · ILLINOIS STATE POLICE MOURN THE LOSS OF TROOPER TODD HANNEKEN Pesotum, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) Director Brendan F. Kelly regretfully announces the on-duty death of ISP District 10 Trooper Todd Hanneken. On March 25, 2021, at approximately 10:42 a.m., Trooper Todd Hanneken was on-duty in his police vehicle and was involved in a single vehicle traffic crash. Trooper Hanneken was extracted from the vehicle and was taken by Airlife to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel attempted life saving measures. Trooper Hanneken succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:45 a.m. “It is with profound heartache and unfathomable sadness that I inform you of the death of Trooper Todd Hanneken. We are asking the public to respectfully give consideration to the family of Trooper Hanneken and the ISP while we grieve and work through this tragedy,” stated Director Brendan Kelly. Trooper Hanneken was 45 years old and a 20-year veteran of the Illinois State Police. He is survived by his wife Shelley, his two sons, Ben and Nick, his brother Chad, his mother Vickie and father, retired Illinois State Police Trooper Jerry Hanneken. ###
