*Warning, surgery photos below!* We would like to introduce you to the affectionate and sweet Ms. Coco. She is a 9 year old kitty that was declawed on all 4 feet some years ago currently under the care of Texas Special Needs Rescue in our area and in need of a forever home. Recently her foster mom noticed she has become more grumpy and was unable/unwilling to jump so she brought this sweet girl to see Dr. Moran for an evaluation. Xrays of her feet showed very large bone fragments that were left behind when she was declawed. Those pieces of bone started to regrow nail under the skin causing discomfort when she walked or jumped. Friday she received the delicate and intensive surgery to remove those bone fragments, pieces of nail, and to replace the paw pads in the correct location. The entire procedure took 3 hours. Over the coming weeks she will be on a pain management protocol and strict rest while she recovers. We will post updates on her recovery and if anyone has room in their home for this sweet girl please let us know! ❤
