Our services this morning are pre-recorded, so let’s pause today to pray for those hurt by and those investigating the bombing in Nashville. We also pray that the AT&T service interruptions would resolve quickly, having made the past 48 hours especially difficult for so many.

We are shocked and heartbroken at the events that took place at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. Jesus' words that we've been studying in Matthew 5 are exactly what we need to hear in this moment:
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God" (Matthew 5:9)
Here are three simple steps to process these events and respond in line with Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
1️⃣ Take five minutes each day till Sunday to read Matthew 5.
2️⃣ Trust the Spirit to allow Jesus’ words guide your thoughts, emotions, desires, and choices as you pray for yourself, for others, for our leaders, and for our country.
3️⃣ Join us this Sunday, January 10th as we pray through Matthew 5 corporately during our services.
This semester course will help guide men from sexual brokenness to wholeness. Many men struggle with unwanted sexual behavior but few have someone to talk to about it and live in destructive patterns and shame. We want to help men find freedom in Christ.http://ow.ly/5iiH50D1uHb
Prayer can change things. Every Tuesday starting January 26, join us for this co-ed study as we walk through the prayers of Daniel as he prayed for the nation of Judah to be changed. Register today! http://ow.ly/FbAg50D1t36
Group Connect is a multi-week experience where you will meet people, select, and join a Fellowship Group. Groups will meet on campus for the first 8-10 weeks and eventually launch into homes. Begins January 25, and childcare is available, so register now! http://ow.ly/T8Db50D8Guo

Check out this blog post, "Hope in Croatia", by Amy Bellwood to see how God is changing hearts and lives through the work of our Global Partner's ministry in Croatia. http://ow.ly/5UkD50DcWvt
... We remember a man who represented a movement of justice, love, non-violence and brotherhood against racism, hatred, violence and segregation. Above all, he stood for the gospel of Jesus Christ that breaks the chains of a heart's dark oppression and brings freedom and light to all who would receive it.
We are grateful for Dr. King's life and legacy, and we share his dream that "one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places shall be made plain, and the crooked places shall be made straight and the glory of the Lord will be revealed and all flesh shall see it together." (from Isaiah 40:4-5a KJV, which Dr. King invoked in his "I Have A Dream" speech)
