Putting the finishing touches on deck remodel / rebuild ... we lowered a 10'X10' section, removed the old posts and installed 6"X6" Cypres posts to match the fence posts and then added this 2" hemp rope. This stuff is very very ... stiff and not at all easy to work with ... but I think the finished product justifies the hassle factor.
Just finishing up the stain on this beautiful fence on the beach in Pass A Grille. The louvers and horizontal "pickets" are white cedar and the posts are cypress.
The customer did not like the rough sawn look of the cypress so we hand planed every side of every post. Four passes, on four sides of 50 posts.
Then two coats of Dark Walnt stain on the whole thing.

Latest Project ... customer purchased a garage full of Cumaru Teak and wanted a deck built between the pool deck and sea wall. Not only is the material very heavy but also one of the hardest and most dense woods on the planet. Bring plenty of saw blades. Nobody wanted the job. We did ... Cant wait to see this beautiful deck all oiled up!
