Silva, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally-invasive and degenerative spine surgery; and adult deformity and scoliosis surgery at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital.Dr. Silva has trained at some of the nation™s premier medical institutions. He earned his medical degree at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in La Jolla, California. He completed a general surgical internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts and was a visiting neurology resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Silva completed his neurosurgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in San Bernardino, California, where he served as Chief Resident.Dr. Silva completed an Adult Scoliosis and Deformity Spine Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois; a Pediatric Scoliosis and Deformity Spine Fellowship at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and an Advanced Pediatric and Adult Spinal Deformity Fellowship at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.Dr. Silva has published numerous peer-reviewed medical journal articles, textbook chapters and societal papers. In his leisure time, he enjoys running, swimming, playing tennis and traveling.Â
