I look back and remember helping my mom decorate the shop for Christmas before our big Grand Opening!
My brother helped lay the carpet, my other brother helped paint... my mom was steaming all the new inventory, my dad was installing shelving, my big sister was away at college, but called every day to hear the progress and I was twirling around in my princess dress!
We had the biggest front window! It was the neatest.... My Dad and my Mama always came up with the neatest displays! One year my dad even made palm trees by hand!
As I look back 29 years ago when we opened for business on December 19th, 1991... we opened the shop knowing this was our family business, and 29 years later it’s still a family business.
To see your same customers from then until now is like watching a picture album come to life!
We’ve celebrated with them, picked out presents with them, had a good cry with them, mourned with them, he a wine with them and the best part is the friendships we have created with them!
Now Figgy has been passed down to the second generation and hopefully the third when little Sidda grows up!
I hope she has the same love and memories that I had watching my parents dreams come true!
