Dr. Potesta-Knoll has extensive experience treating patients of all ages and performing complex oral procedures, including rehabilitative and reconstructive procedures following trauma, cancer treatment, and surgery. Her special interests include removable and fixed prostheses, dental implant restorations, occlusal and TMJ disorders, and restoration of maxillofacial prostheses.
After receiving her dental degree, Dr. Potesta-Knoll completed a three-year residency in Advanced Prosthodontics and earned her Master’s degree in Implantology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she also completed a one-year fellowship program in Maxillofacial Prosthetics. Following her training and education, she joined the faculty in the UAB School of Dentistry Department of Prosthodontics. Before setting up her practice in California, Dr. Potesta-Knoll was on the staff of the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando, Florida. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Potesta-Knoll is a clinical instructor at University of the Pacific Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in the Department of Removable Prosthodontics.
Dr. Potesta-Knoll is board-eligible for the American Board of Prosthodontics, and is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, the International Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, and the San Francisco Dental Society.
When not caring for her patients, Dr. Potesta-Knoll participates in medical mission trips and has taken part in trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic, performing cleft palate surgeries and implant procedures. The mother of three children, Dr. Potesta-Knoll was born in Lima, Peru, and speaks both English and Spanish.
