Fire prevention week starts on Sunday and this year's theme is "Serve Up Fire Safety In The Kitchen", as nearly half (49%) of home fires involve cooking and cooking equipment. Stay tuned for a week's worth of tips and safety points to keep your kitchen and family save from fires this season! 👍
Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8, 1871, and caused devastating damage. This horrific conflagration killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures, and burned more than 2,000 acres of land. By learning fire prevention measures, we can protect our community together!
We love October for the fall leaves, sweater weather, and fire safety! 🍂🍁
Did you know that October is National Fire Safety Month? All month we'll be sharing tips, tools, and tricks to keep your family, friends, and coworkers safe from fires. Stay tuned! 😃
Wonderful weather this week makes for an ideal time to practice fire safety exit plans with your family.
In a typical home fire, residents may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help them make the most of the time they have, giving everyone enough time to get out.
If you've ever met a small business owner, you know how much time and effort they put into what they do. At FirePro, our goal is to lighten their load regarding regular maintenance of their equipment and safety features.
By participating in our maintenance and service programs, one more item is off their checklist so that they can enjoy more time with the ones they love. Know a business owner who could use a break? Tag them below, we'd love to help!
At FirePro, we help local restaurants save energy, time, and money with our filter exchange program!
By changing filters more often, you...
✅ Draw air evenly across your cooking line and run more efficiently.
✅ Run more energy efficient.
✅ Eliminate the need to buy and stock harsh chemicals and special soaps.
✅ Save on staff hours.
Know a local restaurant owner? Help them out by sharing this post!

When you're in a hurry switching loads around, it might be tempting to let that pesky lint filter sit until the next load, but always clean out the filter!
The leading factor contributing to the ignition of home fires involving clothes dryers was failure to clean, accounting for one-third (33%) of dryer fires.
So swipe the lint, every time to keep your home safer from fires!
As we jump into warmer days ahead, it's time to think about outdoor grilling safety!
Fire is unavoidable when it comes to preparing the perfect kabob or rack of ribs on the grill, which means you’ve got some inherent risks right from the get-go. In fact, the NFPA reports that an average of 8,900 home fires are caused by grilling each year. Here are some fire safety tips for the grill:
✔️ Make sure the grill is clean—failing to clean the grill before and after use is a contributing factor in nearly 20% of all grill structure fires.
✔️ Charcoal should be soaked with charcoal starter fluid only, so don’t let the pyro-happy Boy Scout in your family go anywhere near the grill with a container of lighter fluid, no matter how cool he swears it will be! 😀
Wondering what is the most common fire hazard for your business? Here are the top three for offices, industrial, and restaurants:
Office Buildings: As with other industries, cooking equipment is the leading cause of fire in office buildings, causing nearly 1,000 blazes per year, or 29 percent of the annual total in this industry.
Industrial: Flammable liquids and gases can cause an explosion if they come in contact with a heat source- these are some of the most common in industrial spaces.
Restaurants: Cooking equipment—including deep fryers, ranges, ovens, grills, barbecues, rotisseries, portable warming equipment, and grease hoods—cause 61 percent of all restaurant blazes, or about 4,500 fires per year.
Don't bank on luck when it comes to your business's fire safety! Let our expert team create an installation and maintenance plan that keeps you safe- with or without the luck of the Irish! 😉
Happy St. Patrick's Day from the Fire Pro Team! 🍀
If you run a restaurant or commercial kitchen in Central Oregon, it's time to chat about hood cleaning!
Over time, all of the delicious food you're cooking in your restaurant begins to clog up your hood and vents. In addition to becoming unclean, this built up residue is a huge fire safety hazard!
We offer regular, scheduled, cleanings so that you never have to keep track of when it's time to clean again. 😀
