March ☘️ is Workplace Eye Wellness Month 👷🏼♂️👷🏽👷🏾♀️ We had a patient this week sawing wood without his safety glasses on. We’ve all done it! He lost control and this piece of wood flew straight to his eye. Cut his cornea ✂️, caused a hyphema 🩸 (blood behind the cornea), a cataract ☁️ , and a retinal tear 💔. 🙅🏼♀️ Nope nope nope! Thankfully things have healed up well but it’s been a long few weeks! Wear your safety goggles! 💚Dr. Bailey
Occasional floaters are ok, but if you get a sudden increase in the size or number of them, or if you see them associated with flashes of light in your periphery, immediately call the office at 972-801-2727, as there could be a retinal problem!

If you're a parent of an infant or small child you may be wondering when they should have their eyes examined. The American Optometric Association recommends eye exams at 6-12 months of age, at age 3, and before starting first grade, then every year following.
Joseph Allen, O.D. and Miranda Lepinski, O.D. talk about why pediatric eye and vision care is SO important. Visit www.InfantSEE.org to learn more.
