The school's goals are to train men and women to become Certified Nursing Assistant to meet the demand and serve our elderly and our sick people with respect, dignity in the community and where ever they go. Our graduates Nursing Assistants will make an impact in the health care field and will meet the demand of the Health Care Employers because at FIRST STEP HEALTH SCHOOL we know health is first and prevention is the key to it. Our Instructors are highly qualified and specialized in elderly and chronically ill residents.
The training is given in two parts. First 95 hours in class where students will learn all aspects of patient care, through lecture, audio-visual and hands on demonstration. Upon completion of the classroom training, students will then take 30 hours clinical training, at a health care facility in supervision of a registered nurse staff of First Step Health School. Upon successful completion of the program, passing the school's final exam and completing the 30 hours internship, students will receive a certification from FIRST STEP HEALTH SCHOOL INC. Then they will be qualified to take the NYS CNA exam.
