REUNITING MY CLIENT WITH HIS DOG ON EASTER...
Sharing a very heartwarming story of reuniting my client with his dog that had been stolen...
A very distraught client contacted me not long ago and told me about how his dog "Spot", that he had since a teenager, had gotten out of his yard recently. But before returning to the yard as he always had before this, a woman in the area had grabbed the dog with intent to hold him for ransom.
My client had his contact number on the dogs collar, and Spot was also 'micro-chipped' with pertinent owner and address info. (Those micro-chips are not designed with gps capability to see location)
Unfortunately for my client, he said the woman contacted him, told him she had his dog, and proceeded to try to extort my client for a large amount of money that he initially could not afford. As he continued to try to reason with her over a few phone calls that ensued, and ultimately when he finally offered to pay her if she'd meet with him, she hung up on him and disconnected the only contact number he had for her.
My client did not have a correct first and last name for this woman, just a first name which turned out to be a 'nickname' for the woman's actual name. He had tried searching Google and Facebook using the old phone number for her that she had disconnected, but had been chasing false addresses for weeks.
After my client hired me, I went to work on what we call 'locate search' techniques for the woman. Fortunately I was able to find the her without her correct first or last name, but using just her old disconnected phone number. I obtained her full name, properties she owned, along with her new phone number, some email addresses, and most importantly, her CURRENT address in Sacramento, which was the main objective.
Today, my client contacted me to tell me the wonderful news that he was finally reunited with Spot on Easter Sunday.
He said he knocked on the door of the address I provided, and spoke with the woman's boyfriend. He told him he had confirmed with neighbors on the block that they had his dog, and he demanded that they return Spot to him. The boyfriend at least was honest in the moment, and confirmed that the dog was there, but was initially refusing to return him.
My client told him if he didn't return Spot, he'd be calling the Sheriff to the scene, and he'd be interviewed not just by the police for stealing his dog, but also on the Sacramento local news this evening (News 10 had already expressed a major interest with my client, and had previously done one feature story on this).
The boyfriend said his girlfriend was currently 'out of state', and continued to resist returning Spot to my client, who then called the Sheriff's department as he had promised. Upon their arrival, my client explained that he had hired a private investigator to find the woman who had tried to extort him for his lost dog, which was chipped with his information.
That was 'game over', and the boyfriend had no choice at that point but to release Spot to my client, rather than be exposed all over this evening's local newscast.
It is just very sad that we live in a society now with such a growing lack of community values and integrity, that someone would behave in such an exploitative way to their fellow man, instead of doing the right thing, and returning someone's beloved pet as they would want if the situation were reversed. But people are acting more and more like they don't care about the most important thing in life: The Golden Rule.
Of course, this story was a very fulfilling one for me. It is an example of why I'm in this business - To help expose the dishonest and the fraudulent, and to provide my clients the answers they need when they are dealing with such painful betrayal and dishonesty from others.

At Fishbaugh and Associates, we specialize in getting answers for clients regarding the trustworthiness of their significant others. Most recently a client living a long distance away, contacted me to check up on his partner in the Sacramento area. He had a gut feeling she was hiding a possible relationship behind his back.
As they texted back and forth casually on the day of our scheduled surveillance, she told him she had no plans at all. But as we conducted discreet surveillance on her apartment, low and behold she DID have 'plans' after all.
I tailed her out of her gated complex to another male's residence, where I was able to document for my client that she spent the night. The next day I was able to get video evidence of this male she was cheating with, coming out of her HER apartment, and actually driving her car as they went on a date together.
There is a great amount of satisfaction in helping my clients get the truth and the closure they need, in order to know whether or not they can trust the person they have concerns about. In this particular case, my client was not depressed, but was actually relieved that his gut feeling was right on target. He was just glad to know that he was correct in that he wasn't able to trust this individual, before he entered into a formal living arrangement with them.
