Our philosophy at Fishbein Physical Therapy is based in Functional Manual Therapy, a unique approach that combines manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, postural re-education and strengthening to achieve a maximal, long-term resolution to the individual's problems.
In this approach, manual therapy is used to free restrictions in your joints and muscles to allow more freedom of movement. You are then strengthened in this new, fuller motion and re-trained how to use your body efficiently to avoid re-injury. Each patient is treated as individual and the whole body is addressed to eliminate weak links not at the site of pain that may contribute to your current condition.
In addition to this approach, Elliot has had training in various other physical therapy modalities/philosphies which he may integrate into treatment to optomize outcomes. These treatments include, but are not limited to the McKenzie Method, Craniosacral Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, Myofascial Release, Kinesiotaping, McConnell Taping, and Visceral Mobilization.
Because Fishbein Physical Therapy makes its home in Kinected Pilates Center, we are able to offer a continum of care to transition the patient from recovery to wellness. We work closely with each of Kinected's highly skilled Pilates trainers to allow a seamless transition from physical therapy to pilates and wellness to help the patient continue to regain strength, vitality and function, even after physical therapy has finished.
