Did you realize your family spends 90% of their time indoors? Everyone is concerned about clean outdoor air, but with so much time spent inside, it only makes sense to want clean indoor air too! Your carpeting performs a very important "Clean Air" function. Carpet filters the air your family breathes by collecting and trapping air pollutants. Carpet traps dirt, pollens, tars, allergens, and all types of airborne bacteria. Just like any filter, your carpet must be cleaned on a regular basis or it quits filtering and starts polluting. How long has it been since you had your carpet filter cleaned?
Consumers Beware: Ask your carpet cleaner what their process is for cleaning carpets
Received a frantic call from a lady, last night about 8:10 p.m., who had furniture being moved in in the morning and she was attempting to clean her master bedroom because it smelled like dog. Her little Bissell wasn't working so well because it was getting clogged up with all the pet hair in the carpet.
Floor Lord responds to the call. We were at her house at 8:50 p.m. They were clumps of pet hair all over her master bedroom. The client explained that the carpets had been "professionally" cleaned prior to her moving in.
Floor Lord followed the proper steps to cleaning carpets. 1) vacuum. We had to empty the canister three times, there was so much hair and sand in the carpets. 2) prespray. 3) extraction. The water was a mucky brown. 4) groom. Get those fibers standing straight up. 5) dry. We turned on all the ceiling fans to expedite the drying process and turned the A/C down to suck the humidity out of the air.
The carpets looked and smelled great! Client was very happy. So happy, she booked me to clean the house she is moving out of later this week.
Here's what happened. Some of my competitors do not complete the five steps listed above to save time so they can clean more locations in a day. Most have truck mount extractors that are very powerful. They rely on their truck mount to make up for the steps they decide not to complete. The problem is, the steps were created with truck mounts in mind. If your carpet cleaner is not completing the five steps, he is just getting your carpet wet and charging you for it. Shoddy work and these guys should be put out of business. They give carpet cleaners a bad name.
Ask them what their process is and if they don't mention the five steps, show them the door.
Floor Lord follows the correct procedure and produces excellent results.
