Hurricane Prep Tip: Check that date! Nonperishable foods do expire. Use foods in your emergency kit that is set to expire in the next 6 months. Keep track of what you use so you can replace & have a well-stocked kit year-round.
Hurricane Prep tip: Maintaining the trees and shrubs in your yard is important throughout the year, especially before and after a storm.
Prune trees and shrubs regularly to get rid of dead or broken branches and limbs. This helps to protect your home from limbs being blown into your house. Remember, never begin yard clean-up/maintenance activities during a hurricane watch or warning.
After a storm or severe weather, keep debris away from the curb for everyone's safety and to keep drains clear. Use the included checklist to stay organized as you recover.
Weather Ready: Have multiple ways to stay informed during hurricane season:
📻 Monitor local TV & radio
📱 Turn on Wireless Emergency Alerts

The big nor’easter will drag a strong cold front that will move down the state tonight. A few of the thunderstorms in conjunction with the front may be strong/severe. Make sure you have a way to be alerted (weather radio/Skytower app) if there are any warnings issued for your area overnight. Much much colder weather will follow the front.
