This is the #Debruce facility in Hutchinson KS. The largest grain storage facility in the world. It stores 248,000,000 Bu of grain. Enough to make 35 loaves of bread for every single American man, woman, and child. It also accounts for 0.25% of all grain storage in the USA. American farmers produce enough grain to make 14,750,000,000,000 loaves of bread per year (14,800 for each American man woman and child per day). Now the reason you a seeing empty shelves at grocery stores is that we have for the last 30+ years told my generation that anyone who does not sit in front of a computer in a cubicle for 50 hours per week is a ignorant moron. So naturally we have understaffed industries in agriculture, processing, refining, logistics, mechanics, and supply chains. The last couple of weeks while hard should serve as a reminder. The people who keep your lights on, roads open, bellies full, and toilets flowing have not shut down. They are understaffed and overworked. They also have 14 million unfilled careers well above that #fightfor$15 threshold. The last two weeks have seen a country without movies and pro sports. Seems we have forgotten what keeps our comfortable lives possible. Farmers, processors, railheads, truckers, contractors, and suppliers keep our spoiled lives moving.

Sad to have buried my friend and one of the founders of the British Transportation Museum in Dayton. Dick Smith was a kind and generous person, he will be missed.

It is with much sorrow that we post the passing of our founder, Dick Smith. He had just turned 83. He had done all of the hard work to get BTM off the ground and was a major supporter; both financially, time & energy, and in donating his cars. Dick's 1961 Morris Minor and 1964 Morris Mini Cooper S accompanied him on his last ride to the cemetery. Museum members and car enthusiasts were his pallbearers. He will be greatly missed. RIP Dick.
