TaeKwonDo America Official Fan page is feeling grateful. September 28 at 12:32 PM · 🏅September National Tournament 2020🏅 Tournament is a Wrap! Thank you to everyone that helped create an awesome event and to every competitor for participating and persevering! #tkdamerica #tanationals
Over the past 3 days, 43 of our students competed in the 2020 Taekwondo America Virtual Tournament from their garages, back yards, in their family rooms, and at our school. And man...they TOTALLY brought it! I'm always proud of our students - but today, I'm exceptionally proud of our tournament competitors. They overcame an abundance of challenges, including not being able to train in person due to the pandemic and extra-long delays of the build-out of our new space, too. No matter what medals they earned this weekend, I'm most proud of the indomitable spirit they showed in the months leading up to the event and then some. Y'all are inspiring.

Our build-out of the new space is still not complete. We're holding at-school classes outdoors, with parents providing our lighting with their headlights for our last class of the night. And we're still doing online classes as well. We could give up. We could just stop. But that's not how we roll. Instead, we're setting records as we get ready to compete in the Taekwondo America Fall National Virtual Tournament. Because we don't give up. We find a way and carry on. #IndomitableSpirit #kidsmartialarts #richmondtx #katytx #fbtkdstudentsrock
👉🏼 We’ve got our first courage belt turned in by Emelie! 👏🏼👏🏼 Students are being encouraged to draw a belt that represents themselves to cultivate self image and show them their one of a kindness. It’s a fun way for us to celebrate every student’s strength, talent, and skills! #fbtkdstudentsrock #wannabeattkd
It was amazing to have group testings again, even with small, socially distanced groups! And our belt award ceremony- outside and Halloween style, was fabulous. Our carved/decorated pumpkin contest was amazing. So much creativity! I’m glad I didn’t have to judge, because I loved them all! #fbtkdstudentsrock #fbtkdrocks #kidstaekwondo #taekwondo #kidsmartialarts #richmondtx #katytx #strength #focus #confidence

Today is World Kindness Day! 🌍💖 What is one small kind act that you can do? (If you need ideas, we're dropping our kindness bingo in the comments below!) ⬇️
It's a GREAT day when you come in for your first official day as a STORM Team member and your jacket is a surprise waiting for you!!
Thank you to all our Veteran's who have bravely served.
Tonight, potential STORM members (our leadership team) gave speeches as to why they want to become a member. All STORM candidates go through an application-interview-shadowing-speech presentation process. This speech is usually the most nerve wracking portion. Which of course, I do purposely as part of my larger plan for these students. Tonight’s speeches reminded me why I do all this. They were heartwarming, sincere, and full of goals including giving them more confidence to this being the first step in their goal of becoming a teacher or coach. I’m so proud of these new team members along with our current team. They’re incredible kids, students, and role models to all of our students. I’m so humbled to be a part of their lives!
It's important to teach kids the value of honesty. Here's how to encourage your kid to tell the truth, whether they're in preschool or elementary school. There is no failure except in no longer trying. 💪🏽 #MartialArtsLife
This month’s lesson is honesty. We are learning how honesty not only builds strong relationships between people, but also helps us become stronger people ourselves. Students are expected to practice honesty (with kindness!) by telling the truth to their peers in class and at school, as well as at home. #LessonOfTheMonth #February2021
National #GetUpDay is not about falling down or failing. It’s about how you get up and keep persevering that matters. Perseverance is one of the tenets of taekwondo, and one we take to heart. From not giving up on breaking boards, to taking 8, 9, and even 10 tries to pass a belt rank testing to sometimes just being able to make it to class after a heck of a day, every single one of our students has persevered at one time or another and we couldn't be more proud of all of them. #perseverance #nevergiveup #kidsmartialarts #Kidstaekwondo #fbtkdStudentsRock
Ralphie here is VERY excited for our first ever Puppy Love Belt Award Paw-ty coming up for all of our students who earn a new belt at our February testings. He thinks he’s going to earn his black belt in cuteness and in eating treats. 🤣 We hope to see all or our student’s pets (real or stuffed) at this fun-themed event!!
In this week’s STORM team meeting, our student leaders and instructors had to bring in an item from home without knowing what it was for. 🤔 They were a little surprised when they had to sell the other kids on their item - but sell they did! 👊🏼 Salesmanship is an important skill when teaching. Many times, students are less than thrilled to do things like sit ups, push ups, etc. (I know. It’s a shock to me, too. 🤣) A good leader can sell an activity to someone who’s less than willing - and even turn it into something fun for both of them! 👍🏼 Jace was just getting started on his sales pitch here. By the time he was done, we were all wanting that fruit cocktail!! #teachingtheteachers #leadershipdevelopment #fbtkdinstructorsrock #wantobeatfbtkd #kidsmartialarts #kidstaekwondo
