October is here, bringing in beautiful fall weather, and a reminder to check your breasts (aka boobs, tatas, etc 😜) to prevent breast cancer. The mammogram is shown to catch breast cancer early (and contrary to belief, does not expose patients to excess amounts of radiation).
-If you're a female age 40-49, talk to your doctor about breast awareness and if you should have a mammogram.
-If you're a female age 50 and over, get that mammogram, no less than every other year.
-If you have a family history of breast cancer, talk to your doctor about the timing of your mammogram (you may need it before the age of 50).
-Men! You're not exempt! If you have a family history and/or ever feel a lump in your "pecs", talk to your doctor and get it checked out.

Please, keep yourselves protected, which protects others, too.

“On average, the counties that required masks saw a 6% reduction in cases (calculated as a seven-day rolling average of new daily cases per capita). In contrast, the counties that opted out saw a 100% increase.” 🤯 C’mon, people.

We, at Fort Worth Primary Care, heard the announcements from Gov. Abbott and Judge Whitley yesterday about the mask mandate lift.
As healthcare providers, we must abide by Texas Medical Board rules in order to provide care to patients.
Hence, we are continuing our requirement for both staff and patient to wear a mask when coming to our office.
The pandemic is FAR FROM OVER. Do your part: 1) get vaccinated if you can. 2) stay home if you are sick. 3) WEAR A MASK when out in public and social distancing is not possible.
Do your part, and #FWPC will be here to care for you along the way!
Don’t forget to “spring forward” 1 hour at 2am Sunday!
We field many questions on this topic. Here, the CDC provides good guidance for those of us vaccinated against COVID-19.

A snapshot of Mayra, getting a J&J COVID-19 vaccine from Maggie. These are 2 of our amazing staff members, integral in providing at-risk patients with a vaccine that will hopefully crush this pandemic. We were fortunate to get a small supply from the state to distribute, and each dose is already spoken for (hoping we get more next week 🙏🏽)! It has been super busy, keeping up with demand, but we are working hard to provide our community/state a fighting chance against COVID-19. #vaccinessavelives #endthepandemic
