Well, we couldn’t ever have envisioned this crazy year being the one where we celebrate our silver anniversary, but today we celebrate the 25th birthday of our business! Frame Minnesota has been a part of the Eagan community for a quarter of a century, and we thank our customers and friends for making this small business work for so long. We are grateful to be here thriving in the South Metro. We look forward to the day we can throw a huge party to celebrate with all of our customers. I've had this custom frame with the cel hanging in my room for a few weeks now and I still couldn't be more satisfied with my results! I've literally shared these photos anywhere I could and have been trying to catch the attention of the Japanese artist that made this character.🤣
(Horrible lighting but I'm still so happy!)
I bought a hand painted cel and knew I was going to have to invest in a custom frame, and because I really like this show, I was prepared to go all out!
I wanted to pick something simple and just plain, nothing too special. But the young staffer that helped me was amazing and patient!🥺❤ She helped go through a few different colors for the 2 mats to help find something that fit well with the cel.
Initially, I was planning on having just a plain solid frame. Nothing textured, nothing with a lot of pizzazz. I wanted something simple because if I were to hang with anything else I got framed, I wanted it to seem like everything fit together. But then this frame jumped out at me and while it's still fairly simple, I love the indentations and the rough texture of the wood! It absolutely adds to the piece.
The added no glare glass made this cel almost sparkle (to me). I know what the cel looks like outside of the frame, but after seeing it behind the glass, the colors just seem to pop more! (The odd angles were due to me trying to keep my shadow reflection off the work haha).
I'm absolutely satisfied and try not to boast too much about my experience (I mean, I will gush on FOREVER with how happy I am with the results of this custom job). Haha I have the original sketch to go with the cel, so I'll definitely be coming back for another request.
Our customer Terri proudly displays a shadowbox dedicated to her father, a WWII veteran. Her neighbor, Bob, also a Navy vet, helped her gather all of the proper medals and insignia. Did you know this information is all contained on a Vet's DD-214 discharge papers? We found out lots of cool things while working on this project. We love how this turned out!
