Francisco Cardona, MD, FACC, FHRS joined Heart Vascular Institute of Florida in August 2002. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Cardona graduated medical school from the University Central del Caribe in his homeland of Puerto Rico and then completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh and University of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He then completed a two-year subspecialty in Cardiac Electrophysiology at University Of Florida, Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida working with Dr. Mario Gonzalez specializing in advanced catheter ablation of difficult cardiac arrhythmias before moving with his wife and two boys to St. Petersburg, Florida.
