CMS (Center for Medicare/ Medicaid Services) Phase Two reopening schedule includes the ability to host indoor visits when no mitigation tiers exist and the facility is in compliance with no cases for more than 14 days. We are still keeping 6' apart with some other conditions, but this is a great start! We are so happy to be able to schedule these visits for our residents and families.

A fun little ditty about how NOT to wear a mask...made by our Activity staff, with help from our residents of course! โฅ๏ธ
Per the detailed family email we sent out, Freeburg Care Center is excited to announce starting Monday, March 22, 2021, we will allow "contact" visits only for fully vaccinated residents, per the very specific CDC, CMS and State of IL guidelines, which are focused on the residents vaccination status, not the visitors. ๏ฟผFor our residents who are not โfully vaccinatedโ (either because they are waiting to get their second dose, OR they are not 14 out from their final dose, OR their POA chose against them getting the vaccination) the indoor six foot visits are still available to you by appointment, just as they have been for families for a few weeks now. Here are our guidelines for "contact" visits for our fully vaccinated residents:
*You may visit from 10am to 4pm daily, seven days per week, without an appointment, regardless of your own vaccination status.
YOU MUST WEAR A PROPERLY FITTING FACE COVERING OR MASK DURING YOUR ENTIRE VISIT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
*Visitors must be 17 years or older, and up to 4 visitors are allowed per resident at a time.
*There is a box with a screening form at the front door to be filled out. You will be asked to use sanitizer and then led by a staff member to your loved one. Your loved one will then put a mask on and a staff member will sanitize their hands.
*If you are visiting a resident with a roommate, the curtain will be pulled all the way, and the visitor(s) must remain on the side of the room their loved one is on.
*There is to be no wandering throughout the facility or on other halls. The CDC is very specific about this in their official guidance, and about the six foot distance that must be kept from other residents.
*If you are visiting a resident, and decide to visit a second resident while you are here, you must first check with a staff member to make sure the second resident is fully vaccinated. A staff member must escort you to the second resident.
*Non-compliance with with any of these guidelines will result in an escort from the building and a suspension from the facility to be determined by the administrator.
We are so happy to be able to offer this to our families! We can't wait for the reunions!
