No matter how light, how clean or how dirty, chains wear out. Over time the pins of the chain wear a very small amount of metal away from the plates of the chain. Compounded over many links, this can become a noticeable difference especially to your cassette and chainrings. Using a chain checker will keep you in the know on your chain’s life, and save you big money. Catch it early enough, and you can go through a couple chains before having to swap your whole drivetrain.

If you’ve ever ridden on a bad saddle you know how important advancing saddle tech is. Over the years the shapes have changed, we’ve even seen solid carbon, but some sort of leather over foam is the status quo. Fizik’s new method of 3D printing saddle uppers goes beyond foam density. By changing the actual internal structure of the material, they can customize where the saddle gives support and where it gives way. All of this comes in a pretty lightweight package as well, around 180 grams for the Antares R1 Adaptive.
