Today is Nadine’s 90th birthday and her family sent Bundtinis for everyone to enjoy along with lovely flowers. Her neighbors have really enjoyed celebrating with her. Happy birthday, Nadine!
August was a busy month at Friendship Village Columbus! From summer concerts and car shows to birthday celebrations and photography classes, we had a packed schedule.

Smile for the camera! Part of living at Friendship Village Columbus means making room for what matters most to you, and for some of our residents, that means enjoying a photography class.
One of the best perks of living at Friendship Village Columbus is our fitness program. Residents can get up and moving with our variety of fitness classes. Plus, it's a great way to stay healthy and avoid boredom!
Our Fitness Coordinator, Kristen Kullberg, teaches fitness classes for independent and assisted living residents as well as in our Health Care Center. She received her bachelor's degree in science and nutrition and is a certified personal trainer. She is also certified in Senior Fitness and Delay the Disease, an exercise program designed for those with Parkinson’s.
We’re committed to the safety and health of our residents and staff, which is why we're testing our staff every two weeks. Our staff members also received T-shirts because we are stronger together!
Thank you for voting us the #1 Retirement Community in Columbus! We are honored to receive this Columbus CEO award for the third time in the past five years.
And the winner of our Halloween Costume Contest is... our Queen Betty Peterson! Betty lives in our health care center and shows us fun has no age limit.

Friendship Village Columbus is seeking a full-time dining room server to join our team! *Ask about our $1,000 sign-on bonus!
The Dining Room Server is responsible for the courteous and efficient table service in the resident dining room.
Other duties also include:
- Set tables and maintains workstations in proper order.
- Takes orders and provides service in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
- Answers pertinent questions about menu items.
- Works evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Restaurant Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Clean background
- Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred, but not necessary.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively
- Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service, process and understand requests.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.
- Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
- Must be dependable, helpful, and be able to thrive in a team environment.
