Clutter is what you end up with when you have more stuff than you need. Clothing you don’t wear. Family heirlooms you don’t like. Magazines and books you’ll never read again. Food beyond its expiration date that you can’t eat. Living with clutter simply makes life harder.
.
Clearing clutter doesn’t mean throwing everything out. It’s all about figuring out what’s really important to you and letting go of what isn’t. To get you started, follow our tips to declutter your home, organize your space, and make room for what brings you joy. Read more on our blog - https://j.mp/3jyDcF0

Daily exercise can help you stay active and independent for years to come. And that’s a much more attractive outcome than letting yourself slide into decrepit old age. You don’t need a gym or special equipment to build strength, endurance, and flexibility. All you need is your own body weight.

Dry skin is common in older adults. While there may be several reasons for this, such as diabetes, kidney disease, or medicines, one primary cause is not consuming enough liquids. Buy bottled water or treat yourself to a fancy new water bottle. Unless your physician has restricted your fluid intake, make every effort to drink water all day long. If you aren’t sure how much you should be drinking each day, ask your doctor for advice.
Searching for an assisted living community for your aging parent isn't easy. And there are a few common pitfalls that families often fall in to. One of the many you have to be aware - don't choose the community you would love. When you are touring senior housing communities, do your best to keep your parent's tastes, interests, and hobbies in mind. If you can, bring your parent along to help you assess different communities.

A common mistake many of us make is storing medication in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink or stove. Experts say the high humidity in these locations can make the medication less effective. It's generally better to store medications in a bedroom where humidity is lower and where children and grandchildren can't gain access to it.

This year marks a century since women earned the hard-fought right to vote in the United States. That vigor for equality persists today thanks to lifelong advocates like Eleonore Krebs. Inspired by the suffragists from a century ago, the 83-year-old resident at Friendship Village Tempe has been involved in virtually every notable civil rights movement in recent decades.

Hi everyone!
We have an amazing story to share with all of you!
Several local papers, including #DailyIndependent and #TempePatch, published an article about one of our residents, Mr. Jerry Weaver.
The story follows our amazing Jerry, who at the ripe age of 67 became a part of the online racing community 🏎️ . Jerry has an iRacing station set up at his home at #FriendshipVillageTempe! His cottage is outfitted with a humble racing station, including a driver's seat, gas pedals, a steering wheel, and a screen set to mimic a windshield. Twice a week, he gets behind the wheel of his #NASCAR vehicles to race around speedways worldwide.

While every senior might benefit from a nap, try to limit how long they sleep. It’s essential to avoid late-day naps. These strategies might help them sleep better and keep their days and nights from getting mixed up.
