Ok, we openly admit we have a crush on Ina Garten. Just mention her name in the office and it’s like talking about a rock star. We love her humor, approach to gathering, her use of fresh herbs and veggies, and of course her garden. Her newest book, Modern Comfort Food does not disappoint- it is scrumptiousness on every page. The good ingredients list on page 26 and 27 is simple and we love that it includes fresh herbs. Over the course of the coming months we will try out all the recipes, but the first one we tried, broccoli & kale salad was amazing. Of course, sitting outside, enjoying the deliciousness was heightened because we were right next to our fall patio garden full of healthy kale. Thank you Ina for once again for giving us another reason to gather with those we love. #inagarten #moderncomfortcookbook #cookingathome

Well, if you are really looking to grow a true "plant forward" mindset we can help! Check to see if this is the ideal time to plant a fall patio garden of carrots.https://gardenuity.com/ Look at the math- 30 grams (56 pieces) of the Carrot Goldfish crackers = 140 calories while 30 grams of fresh carrots = 12 calories😃 So let's get growing together for a healthier tomorrow. Christmas is this week and 2021 is right around the corner. When I think about the season, this week, and the year, I am full of gratitude: for the heroes all around us, for those who faced challenges with courage and grace, for those who put themselves in harm’s way for others, for the business leaders who lead their teams through a year of unknowns with resolution and resilience, and for families who still found joy in every day. COVID-19 has brought havoc to all of us and it has made it harder to celebrate with the people and traditions we love. Plans changed for all of us, and it is important to remember that although it was different, every moment was not terrible—we all learned to connect in different ways and to look at our priorities from a different point of view. We learned new skills we had not learned before, Zoom became a destination, and our appreciation for a whole new group of people grew daily. “As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” Audrey Hepburn Our wish for you this holiday is to sit in the power of the moment—let those moments of mindfulness be your time to reflect on all of your blessings and how you can bless others. Growing through unprecedented times makes the beauty of life so much sweeter. And so, as we look ahead to the new year, we hope you will find joy in the moments, stay hopeful and grateful. Joy can grow in all situations if we are open to beauty looking a little differently than we had planned. From all of us at Gardenuity, we hope you have a wonderful holiday, and we are sending lots of love today and for the year ahead. Who doesn’t love some good family competition? When our Grow Pro team heard that one of our customers was facing the challenges of Christmas 2020 with a creative family competition, she shared it with our CEO Donna Spafford Letier. “I love competition and thought the idea was fun so I reached out to learn more and offer up a grand prize.” Jean explained she was sending an amaryllis bulb from Gardenuity to each of her kids who were scattered around the country and would hold a competition to see whose amaryllis grew best and biggest. What a fun way to engage the whole family in some fun. We will keep everyone posted and good luck to the entire family- we are thrilled to be growing with you.

A great perspective and approach to the new year- "Learning doesn't have to be career related to help in your career. When we expand ourselves through new activities, we are able to see more." The article will make you pause and think about things you have wanted to try, to accomplish, or to master but didn't get around to it. Maybe for fear of failing or feeling a bit guilty for doing something for yourself. Well, this is the year to let one of your goals be "beginner." Let your resolve be to simply try and even more importantly, to give yourself permission to try. Sometimes it's the process of learning and doing that brings the greatest joy. #growinggood Gardenuity #resolutions #leadership WSJ.COM For New Year’s Resolutions, Never Think You’re Too Old to Become a Beginner

Connect with nature wherever you work and play. Desktop gardening, growing into 2021. #leadership #workingfromhome #gardening
When you clock out today for the weekend think about what you are doing for your own wellness and wellbeing. Friday is a good time to connect with something other than that never ending to do list. Here is a quick read on a couple of things you can do as a little favor for yourself. #wellness #urbangarden #healthylifestyle #workfromhome #selfcare BLOG.GARDENUITY.COM Work From Home Wellness Essentials - THE SAGE
Desktop Gardens are an easy way to bring the outside in and reap the restorative effects of nature. Studies show active interactions like touching, transplanting, pruning have the same relaxing and stress-reducing effects as spending time in nature. "It's the experience of nurturing that provides so many of the wellness benefits of plants," Donna Spafford Letier, co-founder of Gardenuity. "Our desktop garden collection brings together a simple experience of putting your garden together with the benefits of having a garden where you work." Cait Pennington Dunn Marketing Manager Gardenuity. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4419447/ #wellness #wellnessatwork #gardens #plants
Comfort in a bowl. Another amazing recipe from one of our favorite books Well+Good. Alexia Brue and Melisse Gelula are the creators of a beautiful book that moves seamlessly season too season. A great soup, especially this time of year is on page 108 from Elisa Marshall. The soup is full of fragrant herbs and nutrient-dense mixed greens. “It feels like comfort in a bowl”. Green Herb Veloute soup. So if you looking for the perfect gift to give a friend or yourself we highly recommend going over to Amazon.com and pushing buy on the Well+Good cookbook and of course having a patio garden of fresh herbs readily available is always a plus. https://www.amazon.com/Well-Good-Healthy-Recipes-Expert/dp/1984823191/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3E3KSXNL09Y2A&dchild=1&keywords=well+%2B+good+cookbook&qid=1611070393&sprefix=well+%2B+good%2Caps%2C168&sr=8-1 #wellness #garden #soup #herbs #workfromhome #containergardening

Looking for a bona fide happy meal? It’s a fact, true “happy meals” don’t come from a fast-food cardboard box, but from nutrients that have been shown to have a profound effect on how our brain processes emotion. “There is no doubt nutrition affects mental health”, Leslie Korn, PHD, in her book the Good Mood Kitchen- it is an important missing link to mental health. What is an easy brain food to grow, greens. Think leafy greens like spinach, Swiss chard, kale, collard greens and arugula, among others.
