Today we have a Porsche Boxster in the shop. Customer complaint was a slipping clutch. On the Boxster's the transaxel assembly gets removed and the engine stays in the vehicle. The pictures show the grooves worn into the flywheel. Like many vehicles today the Porsche uses a flex flywheel which cannot be resurfaced so it must be replaced along with the other clutch components. If you look closely you can see the rubber on the old flywheel which allows it to flex.
We have an Audi A-6 in the shop. It came in with a check engine light caused by the camshafts being out of sync. Replacement involves removing the valve covers and assorted components under the hood then removing the all wheel drive transmission to access the timing chains which are located in the rear of the engine. Four timing chains are on this engine. The first goes from the crankshaft to two idles pulleys, the second and third from the idler pulleys up to the camshafts. The fourth drives the oil pump.
Pictured below are photos of a 2017 Chevy Cruise EGR cooler assembly. The old one is still mounted on the passenger side of the engine. The internal ports become clogged with soot and carbon and set a code illuminating the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. The EGR (exhaust recirculation valve) adds exhaust gas to the intake mixture to lower combustion temperatures. Lower combustion temperatures lower the vehicle's NOx emissions.

Well sometimes we cannot fix the tire and a replacement is needed!

Pre-paid Auto Maintenance Contracts-If they are really in the consumer's best interest why are they calling each of us constantly trying to sell them..... Either way we can honor most of these plans and work with them often. Just make sure you bring in your contract before servicing your vehicle.
