In celebration of National Family Day on September 26th we are honored to announce our partnership with the iconic Please Touch Museum and the re-imagination of its beloved market exhibit! We know from the American Academy of Pediatrics that play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth. As part of our purpose to connect families for a better future, we’re donating $1.2 million to the museum's “Creating the Future of Play” campaign, designed to support the institution as it welcomes families back in 2021. The market will promote healthy eating and the significance of food in family and cultural celebrations, key values we share with the Please Touch Museum. Together, we’ll redesign this treasured exhibit so families can learn, play, and connect in a fresh new way.

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the issue of childhood food insecurity in Philadelphia, putting overall health and development of children at risk. With the help of a $100,000 commitment from The GIANT Company, we will be able to better address food insecurity and support families in the West Philadelphia community through the expansion of our Healthy Weight Food Pharmacy program. The growth of our Food Pharmacy will allow us to increase food access for more families as well as provide additional educational resources on healthy foods and recipes.
